INTERLINK EDITOR: As most of you are aware, after more than five (5+) years of being our dedicated Bulletin / Interlink Editor, Roy Hilton has passed on the batten for producing this, our weekly club newsletter. Last week’s Interlink concluded with:- “This is Roy signing off as Interlink editor. Thanks for the ride!”
What a ride it has been. CONGRATULATIONS ROY - WE CAN NEVER THANK YOU ENOUGH
Roy has done such a tremendous job over the last 5 years that we have probably taken it for granted that our weekly newsletter would just appear by e-mail – regular as clockwork – no trouble at all!! Roy has done such a great job that it was almost an impossible ask for one of us to take on this task and give Roy his well earned rest from the regular weekly “print deadline”. In order to try and keep up the tradition / standard created and maintained by Roy, we have appointed 12 New Editors to run the Publication of our weekly Interlink over the next 12 months.
EQUATION: 1 x Roy = 12 Mere Mortal W. P. Rotarians.
So from this month forward, one of our Club Members will take turns at producing our weekly Interlink for one month at a time. For the month of March, yours truly – Keiran will perform this task. Jim Kyan will be Editor in April; Brian in May and so on for as long as this system works. Hopefully being our “Guest Editor” or “Monthly Editor” will prove to be a great way of our members having a go and putting a bit of their personal interest in this task. Producing 4-5 of these Interlinks in a row shouldn’t be too onerous and in fact a bit of fun for all of us. So get in early and put your name down against one of the months ahead. Here is the plan so far:- | Month: | Monthly Editor | | March 2007 | Keiran Slatter | | April 2007 | Jim Kyan | | May 2007 | Brian Bragg | | June 2007 | Peter Reeves | | July 2007 | Bill Robb | Don’t forget to support your Interlink Editor(s) by submitting interesting info for inclusion in one of the forthcoming editions:- Submissions by e-mail to the appropriate editor may be:- An Article; A Joke or Amusing Story; A Photo; A Director’s or Committee Report; A Reminder; An Idea; Anything of interest to the Members; Family and Friends. Remember - This is Our Interlink - Be A Part of It. Keiran
Chamber of Commerce BUSINESS EXPO At last week’s board meeting, the board agreed to manning a booth at a Smithfield Wetherill Park Chamber of Commerce BUSINESS EXPO to be held at Smithfield RSL in June.
This is a showcase for local business that we can use to our advantage. If you have a suggestion as to the best way to utilize this event, contact a board member NOW.
Joker Draw Last week, Prez Jim drew Bill’s ticket out but alas – Bill couldn’t find a Joker in the reduced pack and missed the $167 on offer. Maybe tomorrow!! The website has information on past and future events as well as general Rotary information.
