This Week: Hi everyone, thanks Peter for doing a great job with the newsletter last month. (Big shoes to fill indeed). We had small attendance but great discussion. Thanks to Jim B, Jes, Renzo, Brian, Roy, Vicki, June, Helen and me for coming. Alan Crane for the NAB attended again and as usual when school holidays are on my mate Ben Robb was at the meeting with bells on. (The boy loves his hot chocolate) Well it's that time of year again where our treasurer Vicki hands out membership invoices. Please be prompt in paying. There is an early bird discount of $30 if paid by the end of July 2007. Fees are $330 for 1 year (less $30 for early bird discount) or $165 for six months. The club has to pay RI, District and RDU by 31 July so please pay ASAP. Brian reported that the NYSF selection day is on for 24th July and there has been 4 candidates been put forward. Vicki reported more about the ball. For the research grants that we are raising for (Breast and Prostate cancer) they cannot be less than $15K each. Since there was a quorum of board members present, it was approved that we support the two research grants. That means we need to raise $30K net from the Ball – SO LETS ALL GET BEHIND VICKI AND THE COMMITTEE AND SELL SOME TABLES.
Apologies were received from Peter R, Ashley and Keiran. Joker Draw: Brian ran the draw this week, which saw Jes going for it. No one told Jes that he had to find one of the jokers, not the 7 of hearts. Jackpot stands at $18.

"Next Meeting: Tuesday 10th July 2007 normal breakfast. Please try and attend.
The Unconcerned Widow An old man and woman were married for years, even though they hated each other. When they had a fight, screaming and yelling could be heard deep into the night. He constantly told his wife in front of all the people in the town: "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!" The neighbours believed he practiced black magic and was responsible for missing cats and dogs and strange sounds at all hours. He was quite feared and enjoyed it very much. Then the man died abruptly under strange circumstances and there was a closed-casket funeral. After the burial, the wife went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow. Her neighbours approached in a group to ask if she wasn't worried about her husband digging himself out of the grave. The wife put down her drink, smiled and said, "Let the old bugger dig. I had him buried upside down!"
